The Farm
All of our meat is farmed locally including the beef which is reared at our own farm in Wilbraham and only fed on hay, straw and proprietory feed mix.
Our pork and game is bought from other local farms including Blythburgh Free Range Pork. This is to ensure that you get the highest quality and freshest meat possible. Pictured to the right is our farm where the beef cattle are raised.
We pride ourselves on ensuring an extremely high standard of life for all our cattle.
The welfare and quality of life of our animals is our highest objective. The high standard of living that our cattle receive reduces stress, which helps to create an ultimate end product.
Michael, himself, is the main supplier of his own beef to the shop and takes great delight, pride and passion in the final product which is shown in the produce area of our shop counter.
The farm in Wilbraham has access to the local fens where there are mixed herbs and wild grass for the cattle to feed upon.
The cattle can be seen on the fields for approximately 9 months out of the year before they are brought in for the winter. Here they enjoy expert care and soft straw beds till spring returns.
